about

The Physics for Climbers Project was founded in circa 2015. This project will ultimately consist of a podcast series, many additional physics articles/ discussions in addition to the Instagram account, training/climbing blog and resources that currently exist.

Climbing, teaching, physics and embracing life.

Motivation:

“Physics is hard. I was terrible at physics.”

As a physics educator, these are the common sentiments echoed by many: students and adults alike when the subject arises. Not all, for many exclaim how they “loved their physics teachers” or the subject matter itself. Perhaps there are too many climbers out there who are doctors, engineers or otherwise inclined toward the “hard sciences” to truly need the help of this project, but even those I feel won’t be able to resist the urge to prove their nerdiness.

Audience:

  • Climbers who wish to learn physics
  • Students who want to learn physics through a different medium
  • Climbers / friends / family who just want a little entertainment
